Your Association Blog – How’s it Doing?

Updated: Feb. 16, 2015

Regularly adding content to your association website is a great way to attract new members while also educating current members.

Why is blogging so important?

One reason is search engines such as Google gobble up new content, driving new traffic to your site. Additionally, providing valuable information cements your organization as an industry leader.

Don’t Be Intimidated by Technology

Many associations use the technical aspects of a blog as an excuse not to maintain one.

However, using your association management software, like StarChapter, or another content management system can greatly assist with the technical aspects of your blog.

Most systems are very similar to word processing programs, so you will get through the learning curve quickly. After about the fifth post, you’ll be feeling comfortable and confident with the program.

With the technical parts taken care of, the really challenging part of blogging is consistently finding topics to write about.

If you need some inspiration, here are ten blog post ideas.

Try adding a question at the end of each blog post to encourage reader interaction.
